Below is
a screen shot of a typical hiking page on my site. Putting your mouse over
the various headers and icons will provide an explanation.
a A very short bio of me to judge your skills and interest
against mine when it comes to my hike ratings and opinions.
I'd say that in most cases, I'm right
about in the middle. I'm not a muscle bound guy but I do have strong
legs from a lifetime of urban walking. I follow the ultralight philosophy
somewhat so I try to keep my pack under
30 pounds. I feel confident with my skills to be out in the backcountry by
myself, but not so confident to be in the most remotest places in the
bush.
I mostly go on weekend overnighters and usually hike in for about 10
miles. For me, it's more about relieving stress and being amidst the beautiful scenery.
After I get to camp and set up, I usually relax and read a book. After
dinner, I explore the area with my camera. I'm not afraid of a challenge
but since I usually travel alone I try to pick trails that are easy to
navigate and avoid dangerous obstacles such as fierce rivers or dangerous
scree.
Aesthetically, I love being above treeline in the rocky scrub. Growing up
and hiking in the East Coast, I am so over canopy and want to see as far
ahead as possible.
The
Backpacker While it only has a few hikes, they are very well written.

without their knowledge and assistance. With their continued help, I hope to take the
Search Page even further in the near future.
A big thanks also to
for the great Pop Up Text code for the Sample Hike Page
